Privacy Policy

Early-stage note: this policy is a plain-English starting point and should be reviewed by a qualified adviser before you rely on it commercially.

What we collect

Your email address — when you request an API key or join the waitlist. That's the only personal data you actively give us.
API request metadata — in our logs: timestamp, endpoint, your API key's identifier, response status, and your IP address (used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention). We do not log request bodies containing your personal data.
No analytics cookies or third-party trackers.

Source data & "Blind Mode"

The datasets we serve come from official UK government feeds published under the Open Government Licence (Find a Tender, planning.data.gov.uk). Personal data present in source records (e.g. planning-applicant names) is dropped at ingest and never stored or served ("Blind Mode"). We do not build individual profiles.

Why we process your data (legal bases, UK GDPR)

To provide the service you request (issuing and authenticating your API key, metering usage) — necessary for our agreement with you.
Legitimate interests — securing the service, preventing abuse, and improving it — using the minimum data needed.

Who we share it with (processors)

Cloudflare — hosting, storage, and bot protection (Turnstile). Cloudflare privacy.
Stripe — payment processing, if you buy a paid plan. We never see your card details. Stripe privacy.

We do not sell your data, use purchased lists, or send cold email to individuals.

Retention

We keep your email while your account/waitlist entry is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Request logs are kept short-term for security and operations.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, or portability of your personal data. Email gio@1402celsius.com and we'll action it. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
